Despite the Challenges Posed by Covid-19, We're Operating at Mostly Normal Levels, With a Few Exceptions

We've decided to continue with curbside check-in for the safety of our clients and pets and to reduce patient stress. And while we're no longer mandating masks for clients or staff, we have allowed clients into the exam rooms since August 2020 to facilitate better communication.

Online Registration & Records

If you're a new client, please complete our online registration form and email any records you have to info@ciceroanimalclinic.com. Our receptionist will check you in and let you know when your exam room is ready.

Doctor Appointments

When it's time for your appointment, park out front and call the clinic to check in at (315) 699-0050. The receptionist will let you know when your exam room is ready and will text or call you back when it's time to come in.

Surgery Drop-offs

For surgery drop-offs, check in at the clinic and the surgical team will review the paperwork with you. Surgery drop-off is between 7:15 am and 7:30 am. Make sure your pet has no food after 9:00 pm the night before and take away the water the morning of surgery. The surgical team will schedule your pet's discharge appointment and ask you to call when you arrive back at the clinic.

Technician Appointments

For technician appointments, park out front, stay in your car, and call the clinic to check in at (315) 699-0050. The receptionist will check you in and tell you when to bring your pet to the waiting area.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your appointment, please give us 48 hours' notice so we can open the slot for another patient. Due to Covid-19, appointments are limited, and recurrent no-shows or cancellations without 48 hours' notice may require a deposit for future appointments.

The Shortage of Appointments

A note about appointments: we understand that it can be frustrating when we cannot find you an appointment or ask you to call back for cancellations. The truth is the shortage of appointments is a nationwide issue in the veterinary industry. There are fewer veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians, and the stress of the pandemic has caused many to leave the industry. Additionally, restrictions during the height of the pandemic slowed the pace of veterinary hospitals, resulting in a backlog of patients.

At Cicero Animal Clinic, P.C. we're doing everything we can to serve as many pets as possible, but there are resource limitations that are very real. Other veterinary hospitals may have more availability, and emergency clinics are so overwhelmed that they're turning away non-critical cases. Please be patient and kind, and know that every team member is working as hard as possible to help as many pets as possible.
